Initiatives to promote the social integration of older adults
It is essential that stakeholders, experts and the older adults themselves have access to new information and good practices. Based on what already exists at the local or international level, innovative strategies to promote the social integration of older adults are proposed in cooperation with the Swiss government, cantons and other stakeholders. Measures applicable to the entire elderly population as well as initiatives for specific groups (e.g. fragile elderly, persons from other cantons and/or countries) are considered and analysed.
To this end, the results of the cluster – situation in Switzerland on social exclusion of older people, risk factors of exclusion and, above all, local initiatives to promote social inclusion – are made available through various channels:
Through an online platform of good practices (Directory consisting of a detailed and organised collection of information on initiatives to promote the social integration of older people. This will cover all of Switzerland, while at the international level a few specific projects will be looked at, either because they are particularly original and innovative or because they seem applicable to the Swiss context.)
Public presentations in the various regions of Switzerland
Publications (both scientific and for a wider audience)
