    Train Therapy

    The train therapy is a railway travel simulator for nursing homes which helps to cope with behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia. Accompanied by healthcare professionals, Seniors experience a train journey in a space furnished as a train coach. The train window shows prerecorded videos of a train journey. The seniors can choose their journey and print a ticket through an interactive terminal. The therapy stimulates the memory of seniors and has a calming effect.

    Nail QR Stickers

    In 2015 Orange Links launched a nail sticker with a QR code to identify wandering persons with dementia. The QR code can be scanned using a free smartphone application. Once the QR code is scanned, family members or nursing homes can be notified quickly.
    In September 2022 this «low technology, low cost» project received the Grand Prize in the Technology & Innovation category of the Asian Health and Longevity Innovation Awards.

    SAFE-living by Sedimentum

    SAFE-living is a contactless and intelligent emergency detector for private households. The sensor is mounted onto a wall and can recognize falls or also burglaries. The service includes an app which can also be used by family caregivers and a 24/7 professional emergency call response service. The time between an emergency and the arrival of help is minimized, and older adults are empowered to live at home for as long as possible.

    SenopiMed

    SenopiMed offers an entertaining virtual reality (VR) solution for seniors to train their cognitive and motor functions anywhere. Using a VR headset seniors immerse themselves in a virtual 3d environment and solve various memory tasks using their arms and hands. These scientifically proven exercises are designed to enhance the cognitive abilities and motor skills. The immersive virtual world and playful exercises make the training fun, keeping motivation high. SenopiMed is used in care homes and clinics where progress can be tracked on the phone, tablet and desktop, making it a useful tool for caregivers to support seniors during the exercises.

    aidwatch

    The aidwatch is an emergency watch with an automatic fall detector that calls an emergency contact in case of a fall. In addition, the smartwatch has a call-for-help button that can be linked to five chosen emergency contacts. If the emergeny button is pressed the aidwatch calls one number after the other, until someon answers the phone. Additionally SMS are sent to the contacts. As the aidwatch works with a SIM card, it can be used both at home and on the move and gives elderly people a feeling of security.

    PARO

    PARO is a baby seal robot that acts as a psychophysiological biofeedback medical device. Interaction with PARO has been shown to improve moods, decrease loneliness, anxiety, pain, depression, agitation and insomnia of interacting persons with dementia, cancer, PTSD, brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, or others. PARO can also improve sociability. These effects contribute to reduce the dosage of medications as a non-pharmacological therapy. PARO can be used both in home healthcare and in institutional medical and welfare services such as at hospitals, nursing homes and hospices. PARO has tactile sensors, microphones for speech recognition and sound localization, light sensors, temperature sensors, posture sensors and seven actuator systems that move silently and can cope with strong force. Through artificial intelligence PARO can learn a name as well as favorite behavior.
