In the three competence clusters Technology, Dementia and Social Inclusion, we are addressing, in particular, the social challenges and opportunities regarding the very old (80+) and the extremely old (90+).

The sharp increase in the number of very old (80+) and extremely old (90+) people is causing significant social change, which involves risks (e.g. risks of exclusion) and opportunities (e.g. unexploited potential for the economy, counteracting the shortage of skilled workers). The aim is to prepare Switzerland for these challenges and position it internationally.
